Prof. Zhigang Liu

Prof. Liu graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University in 1997, with a major in Railway Electrification and a second major in Computer Application, and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Automation in 2003. He was exceptionally promoted to Associate Professor in 2003 and to Professor in 2006; he was selected as a Ph.D. supervisor in 2008; he served as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009-2010 and as a senior visiting scholar at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in November 2017.
IET Fellow; Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE TIM; Associate Editor of IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TVT, IEEE TIM and IEEE Access; Guest Editor-in-Chief of IEEE TNNLS and Control Engineering Practice; Senior Member of IEEE/CSEE/CES; Deputy Secretary-general, Standing Member or Member of several special committees such as China Electrotechnical Society, China Society of Automation, China Railway Society, etc.; Editorial Board of journals such as Journal of Automation, Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Power System Protection and Control; Member of the Sichuan Youth Federation, Executive Director of the Sichuan Youth Federation for Science and Technology, and Director of the Sichuan Society for Electrical Engineering.
The second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of the Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, the Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Award, the special prize of the China Railway Society, the second prize of the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Sichuan Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award, nomination of National 100 Outstanding Doctoral Theses, Outstanding Associate Editor of IEEE TIM (2019, 2020, 2021), Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker Award for China Electric Power, Mao Yisheng Railway Technology Award, Zhan Tianyou Special Fund Award, Tang Lixin Outstanding Scholar (twice), etc.
